SUNDAY ADULT LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Enrich your faith by participating in an adult educational opportunity. If you have questions, ideas about additional educational opportunities, or would like to teach, please contact Cathy Whittecar.

Bible Study Class - The Adult Bible Study Class meets year round on Sundays at 9:45 in the 2nd Floor Conference Room. The Class has a quarterly Biblical theme alternating between Old and New Testament Books. The Augsburg Bible Study guides are used and cover a three month period. Each Sunday session is part of the quarterly theme but does stand by itself, so participants can come at any time during the quarter. The group is blessed with excellent teachers who rotate weekly during the quarter and seek to help class participants apply the weekly Bible lesson in their lives and the lives of those they touch.  Attendees can greatly benefit their lives by gaining spiritual growth through the interaction with and insights of the many biblically experienced class members.  Being involved in regular Bible Study helps one to find and apply God’s purpose for their lives. THIS QUARTER:  "Faith"

Strickler Hall Class - CURRENT TOPIC: Issues for Christians in Belief and Behavior ~ This class addresses theological and ethical issues that Christians face today. Topics include the nature of our faith, the authority of the Bible, Jesus Christ and other religions, biological evolution, end-of-life decisions, and the scientific quest for a longer life span. The class is led by Paul Jersild and runs for 8 sessions with lecture and discussion.

Parables of the Kingdom, the book by Robert Capon, is the topic of study in an adult Sunday School class meeting in Room 102 for discussion of these always interesting and sometimes confusing stories told by Jesus.

20's & 30's - This is the regularly scheduled gathering time for this young adult group, and we meet in Room 206 (second floor next to the copier). We aim to have short series of 6 weeks at a time, which offers some continuity as well as change of pace and topic. CURRENT TOPIC: (October 27-December 15) Animate Faith.  This series will be led by our 3 pastors as we explore central topics of Christianity in a variety of waysIf you are interested in other 20's & 30's happenings, email Pastor Lauren.
